I am getting an error code 0x80072f17 when trying to activate Office 365, I know I am using the correct user name and password because I am able to manage my account using the same credentials.

The software has been running fine for several months and now has announced that it isn't licensed.

I am running a MacBook Air with the latest operating software.

Im a college student and this is finals week I also have many assignments to do for class but I'm having no luck with this program. The lady who I spoke with on the phone yesterday told me the server should be fixed in 2 hours, then someone posted that they were told 5-6 hours, and now I'm seeing 48 hours. This is ridiculous I'm going to cancel my subscription and look elsewhere.

FRUSTRATING to say the least.  Have just stayed up late to get an assignment done with my new subscription, and I can't even activate it!  How long do these outages take to resolve?  It's now after midnight.  Should I stay up and wait?

Same issue last night. Bought a new subscription to Office 365 Home Premium and went to install on my brand new MacBook Air. Kept getting error code:  Sorry, there was a problem while trying to connect to your account. (Error code:0x80072f17). Spent four hours trying to get issue resolved to no avail. Finally had to cancel subscription. Absolutely infuriating.

Maybe they should let their tech support know before they start giving out useless help

Its seems that there is a server outage, and i guess Microsoft is aware about the same. Please wait for 48 hrs and hopefully it would get fixed.
