I have a problem with my Access database and i’m tired, really. I don’t know how to fix it. So, the following problem: I have an application build in Access and this stupid application doesn’t allow me modify my database. I can open it, but no addenda unfortunately. What can I thought? Of course such “symptoms” are often related with read-only files. And I was absolutely right! Access approves my thoughts by message. But in properties read-only setting is no checked. Why this happens and how do I fix it?

Were you the original developer?  What is the file extension (mdb, mde, accdb, accdr, accdc, accde, ...)

Do you have the full blown version of MS Access installed or the runtime version?

What can you not modify?  Can you give us a concrete example and explain what message you receive?

Please note, when asking questions here, you can see what is happening. We can't. So we can't help you unless you give us details.

When you talk about modifying are you referring to design or data? In either case, what exactly are you doing and what happens when you do it? Do you get any error messages? Have you looked at the status bar (lower left of Access window) for messages?

Are you the developer of this app or just a user? Where you able to do what you wanted before? What changed? Have you checked the permissions on the folder where the app resides?

Without a lot more info, we can't even begin to guess why this happens, let alone solve it.
