Replace All does not work with Text Boxes

I have a document with a number of text boxes. I want to Find (say "ACME") and Replace All occurrences (with say "AJAX").

It appears that Find quickly scans the document and highlights all the instances of "ACME", but Replace All only replaces one single instance and then stops. I can, of course, simply find and replace all again and again and again and again and again ... but you get the idea.

I am using Word for Mac 2011 version 14.4.5 if that helps ...

It sounds like you're using the Search (Find & Replace) Pane of the Sidebar... a limp concession to Apple [IMHO]. Once it goes into a graphic object (e.g., Text Box) it gets trapped & won't come out under its own power.

Use Edit> Find> Advanced Find & Replace to access Word's real tool :-)

Thanks that just seems to solve the problem, but I am left with the desire to whip someone at Microsoft with a wet noodle. What a dumb idea ... two different versions of Find and Replace.

    Thanks again.
