Sorry for bumping in. I strongly suggest ensuring Project 2010 has SP-2 installed.

Hello,
I am having trouble accessing a saved Project document. All other project files load just fine. This one particular project document will not open and pops up with the following message
Please advise!
Thank you

Thank you Dale.
My mistake in not having a backup. However, very poor review of Microsoft Project considering I have spent less than two weeks with the program and have already experienced a major issue that has affected my performance in completing a project.
Dale,
Thank you for the quickly reply. I am the only one working on the project. Unfortunately, I do not have a backup copy. I followed your directions, but it was not able to pull up the corrupted project file.
It said "The file format is not valid. Us a different file for this situation"
Do you have any other advice?
Thank you!

If forgot to ask whether anyone else is able to open this project. Are you the only one with the project, or do all of your fellow PMs have the same problem? Let us know and we will try to help you.

This is the warning dialog you usually see when an MPP file has become corrupted. I would recommend you revert to a backup copy of this project, if available. If that is not an option, as a last resort, you might try inserting the troublesome MPP file as an unlinked subproject of a blank project. To do this, open a new blank project and then click Project > Subproject. In the Insert Project dialog, select the troublesome MPP file, DESELECT the Link to Project checkbox, and then click the Insert button. If Microsoft Project 2010 is able to resurrect the file, you will see the project inserted as an unlinked subproject. Hope this helps.
