Hi, have recently changed for a Windows Laptop to an iMac.  Have installed Office 365 and up until this morning I could do all the usual things, type etc.  However, all of a sudden I'm now unable to type anything.  I can move the cursor around and it flashes, but cannot type at all.  I am not used to using Mac's so if you could offer any solutions please give them to my in layman speak! Hope someone can help.

I am also having this problem as of today. Wont allow anything besides changing font type and size, and pasting into the document. No editing of text or typing. Very frustrating.

Another possible cause (if the cursor stays static):

    • The text is formatted as hidden in Format > Font > Hidden AND
    • You have these options unchecked:
      • Word > Preferences > View > Hidden text
      • Word*> Preference* s > View > All

Please start by doing the "Basics" of troubleshooting as described here:

Before anything, though, try simply restarting your Mac. If your keyboard is external, unplug it and then plug it back in again. If it is wireless, put in a fresh set of batteries.
