Solved this problem by using a linked table into Excel, then a Pivot Table report

I am trying to create a report outling monthly expenditure totals by category of spend.
My data table has four fields I'm interested in.
Date of expenditure (in this case, all dates are from 2013)
Category (there are currently 11)
Sub category (currently approx 50)
Amount of expenditure
I would like a report, showing a table with sub-category, Months and Total columns, and rows for each sub-category, grouped by category, and totals.
Are there any templates that I can download that would simplify this process, rather than starting from scrath.
Many thanks
Colin
