Hello,

I have an issue with Office 2013 well to be more specific it is Excel 2013.

When 1 user  (1 machine affected)  attempts to open MS Excel new work book the following error appears:

Microsoft Excel cannot open or save any more documents because there is not enough available memory or disk space.

However she can create new templates for budgeting, etc just not a new blank workbook

I have made sure protected mode wasn't selected under trust

There is plenty of disk space, and also i have uninstalled and re-installed Office 2013

Any idea's guys?

Hi Chris,

Thank you for choosing Microsoft Community.

Try the steps below and check the result:

Step 1:

Try to open Excel in safe mode and check if the issue occurs:

· Hold Windows key + R.

· Copy and paste, or type the following command in the Open box, and then press Enter:

Excel /safe

Note: There is space between Excel and**/**

If it works fine in safe, the open Excel, click on File, Options and then Add-ins.

· Under Manage select COM Add-ins.

· Click on GO options beside Manage, uncheck all the add-ins and click Ok.

· Try to open Excel/file and check if it works fine.

Step 2:

You may also empty the Excel startup folder and check the result. Go to the following locations on the computer then delete all the contents for the specified folders:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\STARTUP

C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART

Note: Office 15 is for Office 2013.

Also ensure multiple Excel process are not running in the task manager.

  1. Let us press the Ctrl + Alt+ Delete key -> Click on Task Manager to open.
  2. Under Processes tab -> look for Excel.exe. If you find it, then you may click on End Process.

I hope the above steps help. Let us know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.

This can occur if Temporary Internet Files is not specified in IE settings on a Windows 7 and Office 2013. The Internet Temporary Files location in IE can become blank due to a Group Policy tattoo, Excel would not open a blank workbook yet could open the other available templates. Trust Center's Trusted Locations was blank but populating that alone did not help. Try setting your IE Temp Internet Files location to a known writable and valid path. If it is set via the administrator, check what is being set by Group Policy and local policies using rsop.msc.

    Hi,

I Could not get any of the below to work, and have been searching for further reasons.

My Office 2013 installation started to work after I changed the registry settings on thes page:

    http://kb.jetreports.com/article/AA-00914/0/Microsoft-Excel-cannot-open-or-save-any-more-documents.html

Although my install is on a Win7 the registry setting was pointing to a Z: drive that does not exist on my machine any longer.

    Best,

    Jesper
