Programs opening behind word

Question

Every time I have word open and I go to open another progtam it does not open in from of Word. I have to minimize word to see the program I just opened. Example is if I open a PDF file by clicking it from my desktop it does not appear because the Word document is opened. How can I stop this.

No it does not happen with Excel. Only Word

Its not a Word/Office problem, its either a third party utility or win setting (unlikely)

Does the same occur with excel?

This does not help. My problem is that Word stays in front of any program I open. It is very annoying.
