APPCRASH

I have recently reinstalled Office 2010 after having a new hard drive and motherboard installed. However, whenever I try to start Word I get a message saying that Microsoft Word has stopped working, and the equivalent with Powerpoint, with the following problem signatures

Hello John,

You may follow the steps provided below and check if that helps to resolve the issue:

Step 1:

Ensure Word and PowerPoint 2010 applications are not running in Compatibility mode using the following steps:

1.       Click on Start > Computer > C-Drive (C :) > Program Files or Program Files (X86) > Microsoft Office > Office14

2.       Locate the Word and PowerPoint files then do a right-click on it and select ‘Properties’

3.       Select the ‘Compatibility’ tab then uncheck the ‘Run this program in Compatible mode for’ option

4.       Click on Apply and then select OK.  Then trying opening Outlook and verify the status.

Step 2:

If the issue still persists, you may follow the suggestions provided in the thread links below and check if that helps:

    Alas none of those solutions worked with Word, but the problem does seem to have been overcome on Powerpoint.

    Any more ideas on dealing with the Kernelbase .dll fault on Word?
