Microsoft Project 2010 - Summary Tasks error

Iam using the Project 2010 and I have unchecked the box on Summary Tasks (on format tab) to do a filter on my project that has 3000 lines. Everything worked fine until I want to show it again. It does not show again the roll up option and simbol (+). I am using Gantt Chart View.

I have cleaned all filters on view tab and selected to show all taks and everything that is possible and it does not work.

When I go to other view such a Detail Gantt it appears normally, but when I go back to Gantt Chart it does not work/show.

I have installed service pack 2 and didnt work at all.

Can someone help me?

Regards,,

Angelo.

    Angelo --

What happens if you try filtering WITHOUT hiding the Project Summary Task?  Does that work?  Is this happening on all projects or only one project?

If you only have this problem on one project, ne thing you might try the following:

    1. Display the Gantt Chart view in the project.
    2. Display the Project Summary Task.
    3. Click the Task ribbon tab.
    4. Click the Gantt Chart pick list button and select the Reset to Default option.
    5. Click the Yes button to reset the Gantt Chart view back to the default settings.

The reason I suggest the above steps is because I was getting "wacky" behavior with the Gantt Chart view in one particular project, where applying a highlight filter did not highlight any rows.  After resetting the Gantt Chart, the project now works perfectly.  Just a thought.  Hope this helps.

    Angelo,

Try Dale's suggestion first but if that doesn't work, you may have a corrupt file. The usual method for clearing corruption is to save the file to XML and then re-open in Project. Note, you will  lose any custom formatting with this process.

    Hope this helps.
