Split from this thread.

I tried copying and pasting this into my search under the themes tab but it won't accept it. Am I putting it in the wrong place?

I don't have all of my themes either and I'm trying to locate them. When I paste it . It says incorrect path

I have put a copy of the themes from various versions of Office (2007, 2010, 2013) in folders under the following folder of my One Drive

http://1drv.ms/1utd6rX

If you download the theme that you want and save it in the

C:\Users[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\Document Themes

folder, it should appear as a Custom Theme in the Themes dropdown.

I too had missing themes, which I needed for my college class. Here is a workaround I was able to use:

If you go to the Microsoft Templates/Themes site linked below:

    https://store.office.live.com/templates/Themes

you should be able to browse to the missing theme you need. I know, I know..it says it is for Power Point...BUT.....follow these steps:

    • Click on the theme you need
    • Click the Open in Power Point Online option (I do not know if you need to have PowerPoint installed, but here it gives me a message saying the theme will be saved to my OneDrive)
    • Click Continue if you have the same message pop up
    • Now it should open up a Power Point presentation in the theme you need
    • Click on File
    • Click Save As
    • Click the Download button that should look like this:
    • Once I clicked download, a blank white screen popped up in a pop-up, but when I closed it and looked in my Downloads folder the Power Point Presentation file was there.
    • Rename the file (I chose the name of the theme) and put it in a file you can easily locate.
    • Now when you open MS Word and choose to browse for themes, go to this file and select it. Even though it says on the website that it is for Power Point, I was successful in applying this as the theme file I needed.

Hopefully someone out there finds this information helpful, because I was going crazy trying to figure this out!

This link no longer works. Is there an updated or fixed one we can use?

    Try:  Word Themes - OneDrive

How are you doing a "search under the themes tab"?

All of the installed themes should appear as thumbnails in the dropdown from the Themes button on the Design tab. (There is nothing called a "themes tab".) At the bottom of that dropdown there is a "Browse for Themes" item that will let you find and open custom themes if you've saved them in some folder other than the one used by the installer, but that's rarely used.

Please start at the beginning, with what you're trying to accomplish, and explain step by step what you've tried and what happened. If possible, include screen shots so we can see where you're working. Also mention what versions of Word and Windows you have, because the paths are different.
