I have Office 2010 and decided to load Office 2013.  Since installing Office 2013 and removing it I am getting an error now on one of my spread sheets that will not stop unless I go to task manager and kill everything.  How can I fix this error?  I have Excel 2010 64 bit no add-ons

I'm not sure about what you are talking about as a "longer repair" - but if you can fix it without uninstalling and reinstalling, great.

If you have to uninstall and reinstall, after uninstalling, I (personally) would go into C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office\Office 14  and delete that folder and all of its sub-folders.  That will force the reinstall to recreate all of those files during the re-installation instead of possibly saying to itself "do I need to install this file from the disk?  Oh, it's already here, no I don't" and leaving a corrupted file in place.  Not a must do, but it is what I'd do.

I did a repair and it's better but still recalculating non stop. Also, my Master book that is linked to 4 others has one of the external books attached to it. When I open the Master book it normally opens by itself   Then I open he other 4 books and link them. Let's say the external books are called ABCD now I open the MASTER and book A opens with it   Plus when I go to save it, it says so. Want to recalculate before I save I cluck on yes and the box never goes away until I press no.

Should I uninstall 2010 altogether and reinstall? Or do a longer repair (not sure what that's called)

    thanks

Have you tried doing a REPAIR installation of Office 2010?

Go to the control panel, Programs and Features, find Microsoft Office 2010 in the list and click the "Change" button and choose Repair (second option) in the Office 2010 setup screen that will come up.
