Office365 - Error message: "SOMETHING WENT WRONG - Sorry we ran into a problem - Try going online for additional help"

I still cannot access Office365 since I purchased a copy on 1 July. I can see the installation only when I go to the Control Panel's Programs and Features but not under the Start>Programs window . I reported it previously and received a telephone call back to find out more about my query and was told my query will be escalated to the relevant office. I've been waiting since!

What is it that a paid-for program should cause us such grief and inconvenience!? I attempted all the Quick & Online repair features after the "SOMETHING WENT WRONG - Sorry we ran into a problem - Try going online for additional help" to no avail. Instead I meet up with a whole lot of my fellow travellers with similar problems!! I feel cheated because this programs clearly has serious bugs which have no clear and straight-forward fixes but it remains for sale to unsuspecting customers like myself. Have I lost my money forever to Microsoft online program subscription or is there any further redress to my query? What happens if my subscription period runs out before I have not used the program. What is even more unfair is that when I decided to buy the program I needed to attend to some urgent work at the time, which I lost because I ran out of time trying to sort out the installation problems of this thing.

I may appear to be lashing out, but I really trusted Microsoft software and I feel really done down by this incident. Who else shall we trust now...

I freaked out on encountering a problem with the very first thing I do on a brand new, just out of the box computer with brand new program too and I was ready to take it back.

The link you sent above was spot on and perfect, it ran through a "how to" and after 3 minutes I was up and running.

    Thankyou soooooo much!!

    :)

I have also the same problem. Just bought the damn thing and now its not working. There is a program called FixIt from microsoft which supposedly cleans all the old Office stuff. I downloaded it, fix it as we speak and problem stays the same...

    Anyone any more ideas ?

Hey I found the problem. Here is the link.  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2827031?wa=wsignin1.0

It says we are seeing it because of "You could be seeing these errors if a second installation of Office was started before the first installation was finished or if you restarted your computer before the installation was finished."

When you log in there will be a video that plays. U need to watch the video all the way through. do not click out of it. It just seems like a promo but it is not, it fixes the problem at the end. For some reason, I had to do it twice but my word document no longer says unlicensed.

    good luck.

I have the same or similar problem.  After following the instructions to repair Office 365 I still cannot use any of the programs.  This is extremely frustrating and I am afraid does nothing to change my already low opinion of Microsoft!

I am having the same issue!  I am unsure as to where to go as well. I am going to do some searching on the site.
