I recently updated, MS office using windows update, and I notice that I cannot do very basic things.

for example:

my cursor does not change to plus sign, so that I can extrapolate my data.

I cannot drag cell to another position.

I tried doing the same things in web app, and I am able to do it as expected.

Please help, I do not understand why is it happening.

I have not notice any problem with any other MS office software.

Hi,

Go to File > Options > Advanced and ensure that "Enable fill handle and allow cell drag and drop" box is checked.

    Hi,

You are welcome.  I don't think there is a 'Return all setting to default" setting anywhere.

thanks, I found that setting and changed it back.

I recently ran a macro enabled excel file, and it may have changed that setting. I do not know what else might have changed. How can I reset all settings back to default settings in MS Excel only? I could not find any such button.

    Many thanks

I don't know about 2013 but in earlier versions in Options you could disable  "allow cell drag and drop"

    That may be your problem.
