"Cannot locate the internet server or proxy server.." error

Hi

I am trying to use youtube hyperlinks within my powerpoint, but when you are showing a full screen slideshow in powerpoint and you click on the hyperlink, the screen freezes and shows the following error:

"Cannot locate the internet server or proxy server"

You then have no choice but to force quit Powerpoint.

I have copied the youtube link into safari and it works fine, also my Mac is up to date with the latest iOS (10.10.1) and updates.

I am using Powerpoint for Mac 2011 - but it also does the same thing in 2008.

Does anyone have any suggestions or is the function simply unsupported?

What are you linking to? Is it a File? A web site? Something else?

Credit to Jim Gordon for the information, I was able to locate this thread where he stated:

In PowerPoint, hyperlinks work only while the slide show is playing. If you are in any of the editing views, hyperlinks don't work when you click on them.
