Subtotal not sorting

Hi,

I am not a very experienced Excel user so please bear with me. I have used the subtotals function in excel and came up with my results i.e.

Booking ID Pack Summary
NONOXXXLLoose Count 1
NONOXXLLoose Count 4
NONOMLoose Count 1
42DXXXLLoose Count 4
42DXXLTight Count 1
42DXXLLoose Count 3
42DXLTight Count 1
42DXLLoose Count 11
42DMLoose Count 1
42DLLoose Count 1
42DDXXXLLoose Count 2
42DDXXLTight Count 1

Now I am trying to sort the results so that the highest count comes on top which I have done several times before but it's not doing anything. Can anyone help me with this? I might need to have the spreadsheet in a certain format maybe but I seem to have tried everything I can think of and it's still not working.

Thank you in advance

    Hi,

Sorry for the late response - when you do subtotals on Pack Summary - when the data shows you the results it apprears as if the data is in the Booking ID column when it's not. All that info is in the packsummary. The count after you do the subtotals appears in the column you would have chosen to do the subtotals for - I hope I am making sense.

The data is just in the 'pack summary' column - when I do the subtotals it comes up as if its in the previous column but it's not. When I usually sort it - I then remove the subtotals to see the other fields and the data goes back to normal but with my sort in place.

I do not understand the problem by reading your description.

    Which data is the subtotals?

Which data is showing in the "pack summary" column and how is that data derived?

    Gord

Assuming your data is in two columns, I have no problem sorting high to low by "Pack Summary" column.

Do you select both columns and choose the column to sort on?
