I have an college assignment to create a letter using the Waveform theme in Office 2010 but I have 2013 and that theme is not an option. How do I get the Waveform theme?

2 ways, apply the theme to a document 2010, then save it to your 2013 installation or copy the .THMX file

    Send the Document

    Themes travel with the document

Have the recipient save the custom Theme, with current name, to their local HD: Design tab > Themes group > Save Current Theme. Or in Word Page Layout tab > Themes group > Themes drop down > Save current Theme (use the default theme name)

    Distribute the THMX file

Copy the THMX file to the standard Theme location: C:\Users*username*\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\Document Themes.  The exact location varies slightly depending on the OS.

If I double-click on the file you sent me it opens in the correct color.

    I copied your file to

    C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\Document Themes\Theme Effects

I opened Office 2013 but did not see the Waveform Theme. I browsed to the Waveform file and selected it and it appeared to apply something but it didn't appear to be the theme.

Google for it ... although it is not clear what I found doing that

Here is a link to a copy I made

    http://sdrv.ms/15kUltb

Copy it to the themes folder of your personal templates folder. On my computer that is:

    F:\Public\Office\Word\Templates2013\Document Themes

You can find it on your computer by going to File menu > Options command > Advanced option. Scroll down to General section, click on "File Locations ..." button and double click on the "User Templates" file type to see the correct location.

After copying the 2010 theme file there, I was able to see it in the Custom section of the 2013 Themes drop down.  But when I select it, I don't see Waveform in the color dropdown.  So, it appears there is some sort of incompatibility between 2010 and 2013 THMX files.  OR, I didn't do the setup of the new theme file correctly. Apparently it is a bit finicky.  I'm just learning about themes myself.

I don't have access to Office 2010. Is there a way to download this theme from the internet?
