This appears when I try to open an office program;  The setup controller has encountered a problem during install.  Please review the log files for further information on the error.

    Does that apply, when you cannot install the program in the first place?!

    I downloaded a trail version of Project Professional from Microsoft - and when I try to install, all I get is Set up cannot verify disk or location even though it is on the desktop!!

    Try the steps below and check the result:

    Repair the Office installation:

    If the repair process fails to fix the issue, remove and reinstall the program by running it fix it mentioned in the link below:

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/support/how-to-uninstall-or-remove-microsoft-office-2010-suites-HA104027750.aspx

    Note: Ensure to have the Office 2010 disc and the key handy to reinstall it.

    Once removed, restart the computer and try to reinstall the program.
