Showing resource usage at milestone level

When I display the resource usage sheet at the moment, and open a particular resource's tasks, it will shows those tasks with no context. My project schedule has five different workstreams in it.

I have to produce a regular report which shows my forecast FTE usage, broken down by resource, per month, per workstream.

Each workstream is of course a summary task within my schedule. Is there any way to create a view to show this information. My report looks something like this:

Workstream 1

                                            April       May      June      July

Joe Bloggs                            20h         25h       19h       7h

Fred Smith                             18h        19h        4h        12h

Workstream 2

                                            April       May      June      July

Jane Bloggs                            16h        18h       8h        17h

Freda Smith                            8h          10h       6h        12h

    Neal,

Okay, how about this. Add the Flag1 field to the Resource Usage view. Set it to "yes" for each workstream summary line and each assignment line. Then filter on the Flag1 field.

    Does that work?

Ah not quite. My project plan is built along these lines:

    Workstream 1

                Task 1

                    Subtask 1

                    Subtask 2

                Task 2

                Task 3

    Workstream 2

                Task 1

                Task 2

                Task 3

    Workstream 3

                Task 1

                Task 2

                Task 3

With appropriate durations, resources etc. against each one

When I add the summary task field it displays 'Task 1', 'Task 2' etc. but I'd like it to display the information at the Workstream 1, Workstream 2 level if you see what I mean

    Neal,

I'll assume by "context" you mean the parent task (i.e. summary task). If indeed that is the case then simply add the Task Summary Name field as a column in the Resource Usage view. Then you can use the Grouping feature to group by the Task Summary Name.

    Hope this helps.
