Hello Floyd,

Are you installing Office 2013 using a download or using a disc?

If you are installing Office 2013 using a disc, you may create a new folder on the desktop copy the entire contents of the disk to a new folder on the desktop and then run the installation using the setup.exe file from the folder and check if it installs successfully.

You may also refer to the general troubleshooting steps mentioned in the article below while installing Office 2013:

I hope the above information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.

    Hi Frederico,

For possible resolution, we have found this thread. Kindly look for Srinivasu Guntimadugu's post. It includes instructions on how to resolve this issue. Other community members found it helpful. Give it a try.

You may also perform a clean boot. It will start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in Windows.

Let us know how it goes.

I have the same error message when I try to install MS Office Pro 2010. Then I copy the content of  the disc to a folder on the computer and try to install the Office from it, but the error message continue appearing: "Setup cannot find *proofing.en-us/proof.fr/proof.msi. Browse to a valid installation source, and then click OK."*When I direct it right to the file it tells me it is an "Invalid location"  I am still unable to complete the install. Please Help.

    (Sorry for my bad english.)
