Question

It would be really nice to be able to add at least a custom permalink url to the end of my generated Sway. 

Currently my url is: https://sway.com/qMMDjSBi67PmOWij 

Not quite user friendly. Can we get some customizable perma links?

Could you clarify your expectation please?

1. perhaps you would like a "vanity" domain name, such as http://mywebsite.com as the root for your Sway?
2. You might want a more human friendly link still using Sway.com, such as http://sway.com/briansvacation
3. You just want a way to add a shorter/custom URL to the end of your sway? (e.g. bit.ly/sfsrag)

I'm guessing you are asking for #2. Is that right?

Option 1 and 2.

With possible customizations.

Sway is a great potential, if you only profile it slightly in public categories and private profiles it can easily be new "Medium" just better, as people can have publicly available texts in some containers, as well as private things shareable with friends / family only.

Like, I have my travel blog on my own domain, but sometimes I'd like to write about different things that simply do not belong to my blog. Sway could be perfect place for it, but would need to be "public community" or "medium" as Medium is now.

So:

www.sway.com/public-tech-category/My-Thoughts-About-Sway-[timestamp] -as a public text

www.sway.com/p/[username]/How-I-met-your-mother  - which is obviously a private post

or: mydomain/p/How-I-met-your-mother

Now, if you like my idea - What I miss on Medium is "Alias", and they already exist on MS profiles.

Embed it into Sway, give people a chance to use one account but have multiple profiles. So for example:

Ivan the terrible - tech guy, writing about tech

Alias Johny Memorable - Writing love poems.

Such a great potential, looking forward to see it in action! :)

We're using Preview to collect feedback and learn -- so keep the suggestions coming. When you leave a note-- we'd love it if you can add a quick comment about how you'd like to use the feature. (Ex. I'd like to promote my business using Sway and this feature would be useful because...)

Thats correct Chris. Number 2 was my original request, however number 1 would be great to have also.
