Earlier today I bought Office Professional, Project Professional and Visio Professional 13 through our Company HUP program. I received the key and downloaded them. I got error message 12002-1. Anyone know what that means? It also looked like they downloaded and I see the Office 13 folder but cannot open the applications?

Are you sure it is "-1" and not "-4"?  I have not seen the 12002-1 error code yet. It is part of the new batch of error codes that MS introduced with Office 2013/365 and did not bother to provide documentation for.

Please provide us with the FULL and EXACT error message text. Some of the error messages include useful clues that point to a fix, although many are too generic to be of any use.

Note: some people have reported problems installing all 3 of those programs, however they had different error messages

Project and / or Visio 2013 & Office 365 not installing together

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office\_2013\_release-office\_install/visio-standard-2013-not-getting-installed/049af01d-2bc8-4c5d-8b70-fe80a23809e3

I purchased Visio Standard 2013 and I was trying to install from “My Account” Microsoft page. But, it keeps showing me “Sorry, we ran into a problem”. My laptop runs in Windows 8 (64bit) and Office 2013 is already installed.

I installed Visio first and then rest of Office suite.

Some people have found that installing Visio and or Project before 365 helps

Some people have found that installing Visio and or Project in a separate virtual environment like VirtualBox or Hyper-V helps.

Can’t install Project or Visio from Home Use Program

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/access-help/office-2013-known-issues-HA102919019.aspx

When you install Microsoft Office Professional Plus from the Home Use Program (HUP), Visio 2013 and Project 2013 won’t install and you might get the following error message.

    Something went wrong

Sorry, we ran into a problem.

Workaround    Project and Visio can’t be installed at the same time. To work around this problem, follow these steps:

    1. Run Online Repair for the product that was successfully installed, either Project or Visio.
    2. Wait for the installation part of Online Repair to finish.
    3. Install the product with which you are experiencing the problem, either Project or Visio.

For more information, please see the Knowledge Base article You cannot install Visio 2013 or Project 2013 from HUP.
