I have a large number of process maps (created in Visio 2007) that need to be translated into different languages. The translation vendor does not work with Visio and wants the maps in Excel. I am able to export from Visio to Excel but if I try to edit the text (in Excel) it opens the document in Visio.
Is there a way to export the maps and have them editible in Excel?

Excel is pretty unintelligent that way. Visio files are normally only edited within Visio.
