How to replace space with a tab in Word 2010

Hello - I am working with Word 2010 and trying convert text to a table but first I want to remove all the spaces and replace them with tabs.

I googled how to do this, typed in what I am supposed to and here is what I get:

Can someone help me out?  Thanks.

    It doesn't look like you have a space before the {2,}   Compare your screen show with that below which does caused two or more spaced to be replaced by a tab space.
