copy conditional formatting to word

I have a table that has conditional formatting (shows how much a number has gone up or down with an arrow each week). I need to paste that table, with the formatting into Word. I'm sure I did it once, but it doesn't seem to work anymore. I have been pasting it as a picture, I'd rather not do that because it doesn't look quite right. I am using Excel 2010. (Though I do have access to 2013 if that would make a difference).

    Hi Billy,

As I understand you have a table in Excel and you want to paste the table in Word without the format of the table. Let me assist you with the issue.

Follow the steps mentioned and check if it helps:

    ·         Copy the table from Excel.

    ·         Open Word were you want to paste the table.

    ·         Go to Home tab, under Clipboard group click on the arrow mark pointing downwards below Paste option.

    ·         Select the option Keep Source Formatting.

I hope the above suggestion helps. Let us know if you need any further assistance.

    Thank you.

No.  Unfortunately, just the opposite. I want to copy an excel table WITH conditional formatting to a Word document and keep the conditions.  Or, rather, keep the arrows associated with the numbers.  When I copy as you suggest, the arrows do not show.  The numbers are there just fine, but I need the arrows to show as well.  I can paste it as a graphic, but I would rather not do that if I can avoid it.  I have screen shots I can send you.

Copy From excel, Paste Special "Excel Worksheet (code) Object) into Word.  You may also want to use the "Paste  Link" radio button on the left side of the dialog.

This will paste a spreadsheet object into the Word document, optionally linked back to the source spreadsheet file.
