Problem with textbox and cursor

I have the following problem:

If Imarked a text box by I click on the edge in an arbitrary PowerPoint (also from templates) , the cursor automatically jumps to the text box. Even if I click on the edge of the text box and the left mouse button pressed, the cursor will jump immediately into the text box. At another user on the same Mac this does not happen under PowerPoint.

I would this "cursor automatism" like to prevent.

But how??

Please go to the PowerPoint menu and choose About PowerPoint to learn the update level you have. The current update level is 14.4.8. What do you have?

    Hey,

i have exactly the same problem. If i'm clicking on the frame of a text box then i can not use the keyboard cursor buttons to move the text box to another position or to fine adjust the position of a text box because the cursor will jump immediately to the text. If i'm pushing the right or left keyboard curser buttons then the cursor inside the text box will move. The problem started a few months ago.

Thats clear but it doesnt work. I can mark the text box but the edit mode starts immediately afterwards by the cursor is displayed in the textbox.

I can't say why this is happening, but generally it's easier to select the text box by clicking anywhere it it then pressing the ESC key.

If you click exactly on the text box border, you'll engage the edit mode.

If you click couple of pixels outside the text box, you'll highlight only the text box.
