New Web Query query

When I open a new web query from the Data Ribbon / Get External Data tab, the Address seems to default to my "Home" address for my web browser.  Is there some way to set this default address to be just blank?

The page that previews when launching the Data, Get External Data, From Web is the first home page assigned within Internet Explorer's Tools, Internet Options, General, Home Page setting. It is always Internet Explorer's first home page regardless of whichever browser you are using as the default browser. If you are using Chrome, FireFox or some other browser as your default browser, change the Internet Explorer home page setting to about:blank. Excel will now 'preview' a blank page when the From Web Page command is chosen.

If you are a die-hard Internet Explorer user, use about:blank as the first home page in a list of multiple home pages. The other(s) will open in successive browser tabs.

Thank you for that useful information.  Most helpful.  My previous home page required multiple interactions when loading through the Excel Data connection; about:blank doesn't require anything. And, of course, it is highly unlikely that I would be connecting to anything on the home page.

Does anyone know how to set this to a blank page, instead of the home page?

I guess only by changing your default address in your browser too...
