After searching the net for a solution to the sudden death of my incredibly invaluable search feature on OneNote, I figured out the fix.  So simple.

Control panel>>Programs>>Uninstall a program>>select Microsoft Office>>Change>>Quick Repair OR Online Repair>>Repair.

It fixed my problem completely.  Hope that helps.

Thanks a lot. I tried everything else and this simple solution actually worked. Wish I had thought of it sooner.

The onenote app was preventing me from searching all notebooks when using onenote 2013. I followed the instructions from this website: https://thomas.vanhoutte.be/miniblog/uninstall-onenote-windows-10/ My search functionality is back.

Deleting the cache worked for me right away, and it only took a few seconds.

Simply writing to report that this did not work for me, though perhaps I will try it again now that I have completely rebuilt my index.
