Developer and controls

I wonder if anyone can please explain the difference of the controls under the Developer tab in Word.

The icons shows in the ribbon, how are they different compared to the Legacy Forms and ActiveX Controls.

When making a template that is based on a design that should look like a form (so that all employees fill out the same information), which ones should I use? The "normale, the legacy forms or the ActiveX controls.

Are they used for different tasks? I dont really understand the difference.

Also, the building block gallery content control - how can I connect that control towards the gallery of footers and headers, so that my employees easily can choose between the different footers/headers from a dropdown list using this control? Any ideas?

Thanks for any help!

Regards from Kathrine
