Unpack Notebook

I have a notebook saved in my documents folder. When I go to open it I get this message:

    Unpack Notebook

Specify the Notebook properties

     Name                                            Color

  2006 A Work

Path:

c:\users\bob\documents\onenote notebooks

Then on the bottom of the message it has:

        Create            Cancel

Can someone explain what this means? Every time I go to open the notebook this message comes up.

  1. Is it possible to add or subtract in a notebook?

Thanks in advance

I'm getting the same message. Did the advice from Bernd actually work?

So it seems that message is true. And enter a different name ....

After Onenote has opened it use Windows explorer to look into

*C:\Users\Bob\Documents\OneNote Notebooks*

Each folder within OneNote Notebooks is a Onenote notebook. At least the one you just created and probably the old original one which you saved into a onepkg file.

You can re-open it using File, Open in Onenote or by double click any of the .one files in the notebook's folder.

Now you have both open in Onenote and you can compare the content.

Seems you had accidentally opened C:\Users\Bob\Documents\OneNote Notebooks\ as a notebook.

The shortest way to clean your configuration is to delete the Onenote cache (does no harm) by

    RUN "onenote /safeboot"

and select deleting the cache. Then retry opening the .onepkg file.

I tries what you said and got the following message......

OneNote cannot create a new notebook at C:\Users\Bob\Documents\OneNote Notebooks\2006 A Work

The specified location is already open in another notebook

Can someone tell me what is going on? I have no other notebook. I do notice that I had a notebook called "Music" that I have been trying to delete but it won't delete. How can I delete that?

Obviously you want to open a Onenote notebook stored in onepkg format. Answer the questions and click Create. Then a copy of this notebook will be stored in the given (standard) path and then opened in Onenote.
