I have revised an old chart.  data going back to 1990s.  After I have rearrange several Y axis data points I noticed my X axis dates were incorrect. ( Random dates from the 1920s- 1970s) .  I have check the selected data field and my original dates from 2006 to present are correct.  I am stumped.  Any advice would be appreciated.

    Hi,

Right click on the X axis dates and under Format Axis, choose Text Axis.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you.  Unfortunately this did not work.

BTW, Switching to 1904 did change my dates in other graphs utilizing the same data.  when I "unable" the 1904 it reversed.

    Thank you for the suggestion

If the chart is plotting weird dates then it more than likely has wierd data to deal with.

Try using MIN and MAX function to determine true range of your date values.

Applying Filter to the data may also help you, via the search drop downs, locate bad values.

    Hi,

I understand your concern and will assist you with this issue.

Let’s try the following and verify the result:

    1. Open the Excel file, click on File > Options > Advanced.
    2. Under 'When calculating this workbook', check whether 'Use 1904 date system' options is selected. If yes, uncheck it > click OK and verify the result.

Note: Try vice-versa if the option is not selected.

I look forward to your reply to assist you further.

    Thank you.
