Modified shape 'explodes' when resized

I edited a shape in Visio 2010. When I try to resize it, the lines explode into huge circles making an interesting but useless abstract drawing. Applying "undo" does not return it to its original shape, it merely resizes the frame to the original size, but the circles remain. Why is this happening, and how do I fix it? I assume there's a setting in the ShapeSheet--is there a guide somewhere to these cells and what the settings mean?

Thank you in advance for any suggestion or direction.

Which shape is it? If its custom shape, could you please share it with me then I can have a look?

It seems like an issue with the shape. Have a look at the formulas in the geometry section in the shape sheet.
