Really appreciate any sort of help here. I am now using Excel 2016 on a mac and have found that I am unable to check the checkboxes like how I could in earlier versions of Excel.
However, as per previous usage, I can still select the checkboxes via a right-click. From there, I am able to enter "Format Control" to get the checkbox value to change from "Unchecked" to "Checked" (not sure what does "mixed" do). It appears to me that this is the only way I can get the checkmark to show up in checkboxes.
It is apparently really troublesome to do this for every single item I wish to check off. If this is a bug, it is indeed an embarrassing issue for the new excel.
Can anyone help?

You should really start another thread. Are you saying that the check boxes now work?
Nobody here has any idea of when, or even if, any fixes will be implemented.
Hi Bob, thanks for your reminder. I've updated, sadly, everything. Now the text smoothing for Excel (only) has gone haywire. I'm running El Capitan 10.11.3 on MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013)... Any idea if there will be a fix for this soon?
Make sure Office is fully up to date.
