Excel 2013 Command-Line Question

Does anyone know what the command line is for starting Excel, and clicking New "Blank Workbook"

I'm using Excel 2013, with location:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15\excel.exe

I don't seem to  have any files at:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15\xlstart

I'm trying to figure out what/where the "Blank Workbook" template is.

Thank you!  :>)

If anyone hasn't used Command-Line before, here's some info:

hi..  don't know if this is too lo end,  but will workbook find itself.. if run macro recorder is used.

    all i got was:

        Workbooks.Add

Hi.  Thanks for your interest.  No, Excel would have to be open already to run the code.

I do have shortcuts set up that will launch Excel, and open a particular workbook thru the Command-Line.

However, sometimes I just wants to launch Excel, and avoid having to always select "Blank" workbook from the template list.

    I'll keep looking...   Thanks.  :>)

Oops. Found it!   Thank you Debra Dalgleish for her posting a while ago.

Excel 2013 is a little different.   This solution worked for me.

I recommend visiting her site!   A short copy of her excellent solution for Excel 2013..

    1. Open Excel, and click the Blank Template, to go to the Excel window.
    2. Click the File tab, and click Options, at the bottom of the list at the left.
    3. In the Options window, click the General category
    4. Scroll down to Start up Options, and remove the check mark from ‘Show the Start screen when this application starts’
    5. Click OK, to close the Options window.

    Thanks.  :>)

Hi.  Thanks for your reply.  All the options still don't work.

The /e  starts excel with no workbooks open.

I placed a Book template in both xlstart, and startup folders, and I'm still prompted for a template when Excel starts.

    I know there's a way.  I just can't find it.   :>~

    Thanks for your time.  :>)
