Create DNS A Records programmatically from Office 365

Hello,

Now, after create a tenant and finish domain configurations, we add DNS A record manually. Is it possible to Create DNS A Records programmatically for a tenant. Any cmdlet or API I can use?

Hi BaiHe,

Yes, we would need to manually update the A record in the Office 365 portal.

In case you need to update the record later, please refer to Can’t update the A record or the CNAME record? section at Add or edit custom DNS records in Office 365.

Hi BaiHe,

This is not feasible if you host your domain at Office 365. If you need to manage your domains via programmatically, you may consider changing to a third party domain hosting provider which supports this feature.

Additionally, I’d like to mention that you can add, verify, and remove domains in bulk in Office 365 using the Office 365 Domain Manger or via PowerShell.

Just want to make sure I understand you correctly.

For this case, I have a tenant "*** Email address is removed for privacy ***" created on O365 and configure domain, name servers etc. corretly.

Then I have a server "edge.vdoamin.com" deployed in my own datacenter and corpnet which have a public ip "10.11.121.21" assigned. I want to O365 help me to reach this server, so I add a DNS A record "edge - 10.11.121.21" manually. This approach do work for me.

Later, I want to update the public IP for this server to "10.12.202.15". Instead of going to O365 portal and update it manually in domain setting, I would prefer a programmatical way. So for now, it is not supported, I still need to update it manually, right?
