We have a template that we use to create documents with multi-level lists or steps. However, the automatic numbering system is giving us fits.
For example, if I want to add a step between 6.2.1 and 6.2.2, I place my cursor at the end of the line of 6.2.1 and hit return. It correctly gives me a new 6.2.2, and changes the former 6.2.2 to 6.2.3. If I then want to make this step a sub-step, I simply hit the tab button. This indents the number and should renumber it from 6.2.2 to 6.2.1.1. However, it gives me is 1.1
Another example: If I want to add a step after 6.3.1.1, I put my cursor at the end of the line and hit return. I should get is 6.3.1.2, but I get is 6.3.2.1.
Can someone point us to some simple instructions to correct this?
