I cannot Insert a Chart into Excel 2013

Hi all,

I cannot insert a chart into an Excel 2013 spreadsheet.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2013 (rebooting in between).  I've tried repair installations, confirming there are no add-ins loading and checked all settings against a colleagues machine that works and nothing seems to help. I deleted the Excel15.xlb file (which recreated itself after opening Excel again).

The chart buttons aren't greyed out (as I've seen in other posts)--clicking them produces no result.  Opening excel files that have charts cause Excel to want to repair the file to remove the chart before opening, but others can open the same file--it isn't corrupt.  This isn't a shared workbook or in compatibility mode. This is consistently repeatable on this machine.  After my most recent re-installation, I go into File > New > Blank Workbook.  I create a Date column header with 5 consecutive dates under it, and a Values column header with random single digit numbers in it.  I then highlight the data, click Insert tab and Recommended Chart button and nothing happens.  Nothing happens when click the line graph, bar graph or other graph buttons. I went to the Add/Remove Features from office and confirmed that all features for Excel are set to install.  I ran a repair again just to be sure, but still nothing happens.

It is as if the entire Charts feature is missing from Excel.  However, when I log into another user profile on the computer, it works.  I'd prefer not to have to recreate this user profile from scratch, if possible.  Does anyone have ideas to repair/restore this feature?

Windows 7 64 bit

Office 2013 64 bit

Thank you!

I have exactly the same issue as described above.  Don't know what has happened but upon opening a spreadsheet, my chart has been removed and I cannot insert a new one.  Not greyed out, just nothing happens when you click on your preferred chart or the open all charts arrow.  Doesn't look like this one was resolved Microsoft, any further insights or updates on how to resolve it?

I've also noticed that my MS Excel files are listed in folders with a white box rather than the usual MS Excel icon but all files open OK.  So something doesn't look right.  I've already had Windows 10 uninstalled and reinstalled once by the Microsoft help desk.

Thanks for any possible support on this.

All critical updates from the Microsoft server for Windows and Office are all installed.

We need to leave the 64 bit version of office installed.  Like I said, it works in another profile on the computer, and no one else has problems with charts in Excel 2013 x64.

I forgot to mention before that I've looked for Macros, but there are none.

Logging in on another computer on the network works fine.  It is local to this machine.
