How do I annotate a PDF in one note?  I am able to import the PDF into one note, and I can view it, but not annotate with the drawing tools

this is one note on iOS (iPad)

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Office Community.

As mentioned in the following article, you can annotate PDF file inserted in OneNote app under Draw option and check if it helps.

Hope it helps. Try the suggestions and let us know the result at your earliest convenience.

    Thank you.

No it doesn't wok.   When you import a PDF into one note on iPad it appears as an icon.  You can click the icon to READ the PDF file, but you don't have access to the drawing tool to annotate.  Try it yourself and let me know how to annotate the PDF

Figured it out, for my iPad, anyway:

Select the document icon, and instead of tapping "Preview", tap the option to "PDF Printout". OneNote will take a minute to insert the graphic image of the pdf onto the page, and then one can draw away as usual.

Not sure how to then share these markups with someone who isn't using one-note though... more experimentation required.
