when attempting to add a place (odfb) i see the following error message:-

no internet connection

you need an internet connection to add locations.

i can confirm that i have direct internet connectivity (tested via ie 11).

also ran a repair to see if it would make a difference but no change in the issue.

can anyone advise?

    Hi ChrisYue8628,

    Thanks for your clarification.

Considering the Windows Server 2012 R2 with RDS special environment, we’d suggest you post the issue in our Windows Server - Remote Desktop Services forum which is a specific support channel for Windows Server related issues.

     We’d appreciate for your understanding.

    Hi Shirley,

    1. Signing out makes no difference
    2. Unable to Switch account. Following message appears "We are unable to connect right now. Please check your network and try again later"
    3. LAN connected

    I am LAN connected

Disabling the Firewall made no difference

Other computers do not appear to be connected.

I am running Server 2012 R2 with RDS using a ISO copy of Office 2013 std.

Do you happen to know how Office identifies the lack of internet connection?

    hi chrisyue8628,

about the issue, may i know if you run into the error when clicking open/save > add a place > onedrive? if so, to troubleshot the issue, could you try the following steps and let us know the result?

    1. can you sign out your account and sign in again to see if there is any improvement?
    2. how about clicking switch account to sign in with another account?

    1. can you change another network environment to check the result?

if the issue persists, to find the root cause, i would like to confirm the following details:

    1. are you using a vpn connection with office 2013? if so, here is an article for your reference: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2964643

    1. if it is convenient, can you try temporarily disabling the firewall on your computer to check the result?
    2. does the issue occur on the other computers with the same network connection?

if anything is misunderstood, please let us know and we will continue to discuss the situation based on the update.

    regards,

    shirley
