Access 2016 - Chart Wizard - Automation error Library not registered.

Hi,

I'm using Access 2016 (via 365 subscription) on Windows 10. When I attempt to create a chart on a form or report I receive the following error:

"Automation error

Library not registered."

When I attempt to continue on I receive the next error message:

"Overflow"

I've tried the non-IT basic fixes such as reinstalling, quick repair, online repair and multiple restarts.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

    I had this exact problem to the letter. I was able to fix this by deleting 1.8 leaving only 1.9 in the following registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\TypeLib{00020802-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}

    I believe this is left from the automatic upgrade from office 2013 to office 2016. graphs now work perfectly. hope this helps!

    Regards

    Tom

    Hi Regile,

    A piece of information that may be helpful.  I have a piece of code to do charting from someone else.  When I try to open that Access database I get the same type of diagnostic.  This one is entitled Runtime error... with content "Error in Module: xxx Procedure: yyy".  This is followed by more content: "Error Number: -2147319779; Error Description: Automation Error; Library not registered."

    This sure seems like another diagnostic for the same problem, but this one may help determine what the problem is.
