Pivot table Column Heading Format

All,

I've struggling to figure out how I better work an issue and thought perhaps someone might have an idea.

I have Excel 2013 on Windows 7 and in several spreadsheets I have pivot tables.  As part of a certain type of pivot table the column header is a date.  Instead of the default horizontal format it's better to have it vertical.  I format all the headings the way I want them.  Each date is a week ending date and so the next week when data is refreshed and a new week end date shows up at the end of the row instead of taking the attributes of heading being vertical the new date shows up horizontal.  I then have to manually reformat to vertical.

Is there a way to format column or row headings so that when refreshed and new headings occur they keep the formatting settings given to current headings?

Thanks,

Jeff
