Checkboxes (ActiveX controls) not appearing when embedding the file through OneDrive

Hi,

I have made an Excel 2010 file that uses ActiveX checkboxes to allow customers to select various purchase options and sub-options (showing or hiding parts of the sheet in the process). The file is performing just fine on my computer and any other computers.

However, when I host the file on OneDrive and embed it in my webpage, the ActiveX controls are not showing, even though their last setting (when the file had last been saved) is applied.

You can see the result not working here - under each of the bold lines there is supposed to be a checkbox that shows (or hides if clicked again) a table with more options under it, but it's not appearing.

Are ActiveX controls disabled when hosting from OneDrive? What can I do to make it work?

Thanks,

Customer from Croatia

Hello Ritam,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for posting your query.

Let me assist you with Excel issue.

Unfortunately some features work differently in a browser window that they do in Excel.

You may refer to the following link which discusses about differences between using a workbook in the browser and in Excel.

Thank you very much for the information. That answers my question completely, though I'm sad that this idea involving ActiveX controls will not work. I could really use a way to display a complex price list on a webpage that doesn't involve lots of custom PHP coding. If you happen to have any suggestions concerning this, please let me know.
