Microsoft Word constantly scrolling!

Hi,

I have recently applied some updates that Microsoft 'engineers' clearly didn't test out. The issue I am having is that for some reason, when I'm editing a document, it will decide to just scroll all the way to the bottom of the document for absolutely no reason. It's as if my down key is stuck, but it is not. No other applications experience the issue when I switch to them, and that includes web pages in Chrome or Firefox, notepad++ or anywhere else.

This issue is beginning to really get on my effing nerves, because it means having to constantly open up the document and redo changes. I have restart my laptop, but this made no difference.

This is becoming a real hindrance to me, and I would like it fixed. Since there is no way to raise any support calls to anyone other than a completely useless, untrained chimp moron, this seems to be my best avenue of help. Please can anyone help me?! I would be extremely grateful.

As an extension of this question, why are the creators of this piece of software so useless in finding and fixing bugs? I have no end of ridiculous issues with this Office piece of ****, and I am sick to the goddamn back teeth of them. They never, ever get fixed either, and it's only those ones that really just annoy people that seem to stick around. Are they ever going to turn a corner and start providing real, helpful support on their products? Or will they continue to be completely feckless and useless forever?!?!?!?!

Regards,

Tom

Hi Tom,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Office Community.

I understand your concern and will assist you to resolve this issue.

A quick question before we proceed.

-Does this issue only persists with Word?

Start Word in safe mode following steps mentioned below and then try opening a document from within the application and verify the result:

* Hold Windows key + R.

* Copy and paste, or type the following command in the Open box, and then press Enter

Winword /safe

Note: There is a space between Winword and '/'

If Winword works as expected in safe mode, disable the add-ins by following steps mentioned below and determine the problem causing add-in:

a) Click on File menu, click Options, Add-ins, Go button besides Manage: Com-in Add.

b) Check if there are add-ins listed, clear the checkbox.

c) Close the Office program and restart it.

d) Disable each add-in one at a time, restart the Word, and repeat the above procedure. If the issue reappears again, it will help you to determine which add-in is causing this issue.

Hope the above information helps. Try the suggestions and let me know the result at your earliest

convenience.

Thank you.

    All,

So this appears to be down to when your mouse is hovering over the styles box and you are pressing up and down. I'm making lots of changes using pre-defined styles, and the issue only occurs when I have my mouse hovered over the style I am about to use. If I click and scroll too fast, for some reason Word decides it's going to scroll indefinitely, and there's no way to stop it without restarting the effing thing!

Can anyone else replicate this issue?

    Regards,

    Tom
