Why are there no up-down scroll arrows showing in the right margin of documents on Word 2016 for Mac?  I've heard the PC version has them.

Even after making sure the scroll bar is displaying, based on the info Phillip has provided, you still will not see an "arrow" button in the scroll bar in Word 2016 for the Mac. The Microsoft Word Development Team decided that arrow controls were are needed and just "click-hold-drag" on the bubble is sufficient... even for fine precision controlled scrolling.

IMHO, you should not be too enamored with the Windows version of Office 2016 because even though it does have the arrow button, clicking them usually result in an uncontrolled forward or backward scrolling within the document.

Unfortunately proper programming techniques and methods is quickly becoming a lost science.

    1. Open the  menu
    2. Go to Preferences
    3. Click on General.
    4. Set Show Scroll bars to Always.

Also check in view menu I notice that Horizontal and Vertical Scroll bars are locked out, but on.
