Lost file through CTRL Z

I created a new folder where I copied an excel file from my email. I then renamed the file, worked on it, saved it and finally closed it.

I then went to the folder and by mistake pressed Ctrl Z and the file vanished. Computer hung and I had to restart my system.

After restarting my system i could not locate my file. The file appears in my recent workbooks, however it does not open but gives an error saying "Sorry we couldnt find xxx. Is it possible it was moved, renamed or deleted ?"

Kindly help me recover the file a lot of hard work has gone into it. Thanks in advance.

Try opening explorer and right-clicking the folder in question and select "Properties". Check if there is a previous versions tab.
