Visio 2013 Org Chart Import function not functioning correctly

When I import data from Excel into Visio to create an organizational chart, it creates one page per person, regardless of the settings I choose in the wizard.  I have 5500 people that have been listed to be added, I certainly don't want to add them one by one!

Is this due to the Excel file type or possibly the column heading?

Thank you,

Amy Peterson

Thank you for your answer.  I thought it might be because the Reports to column was in Last, First while the employee name was First Last, so I created a column to change the Reports to column to First Last.  Ran Visio wizard, and it still acts the same way.  I can't provide a file as these are protected names.  The Reports to column does have names, and the head supervisor is listed in the employee column, with no supervisor, and he does appear as the first shape created.  Does it matter if the file type is .xlsx or .csv?

    Amy,

Without seeing the Excel file you used, it is almost impossible to answer your question. Experience says that it very probably is the file that you used as input. It sounds like that the 'Reports_to' column might be empty for the employees, or points to a non-existent entry in the file (thus there isn't a way to summarize under the manager).
