There is one interesting point. Your problem sounds loosely similar to a problem people encounter with 1-time payment licenses. In that problem, people buy a computer that includes a "free Trial" of Office. Then they install a copy of Office and try to
activate it. When there are 2 uncultivated copies of Office the activation process seems to prefer the first installed copy, which is the "wrong" one. They have to uninstall the free trial before activating their specifically installed copy.
Your situation sounds vaguely similar. You have a free trial that is expiring, and you have a paid license that is expiring 1 year later.
Try uninstalling Office from your computer using the control panel. Restart your computer then go to the MyAccount page and install Office again. If the MyAccount page shows that you have Office installed on that computer click on the "deactivate" link.
Then do the install.
