Sorting highest to lowest doesn't work

I exported data from Google AdWords. When working with the Excel sheet I realize that the sorting is not working properly. When I use the standard data filter and select sort highest to lowest I get this output:

9

9

9

87

8

8

8

8

8

8

8

70

7

7

7

7

68

So it seems it's only sorting the most significant number. What can be wrong?

Hi,

Those seem to be Text entries.  Select the entries and go to Data > Text to columns > Finish.  Now sort the data.

    Hi,

Typically text sort, use custom sort, Z to A, sort anything that looks a number, as a number.
