I have a shared mailbox '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***' created with a group of users who are assigned to the mailbox. I have created an alias '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***'. My question is how does the alias '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***' work? If an email is sent to '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***' will all the users who are assigned to the shared mailbox '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***', receive the email. Thank you.

Hi SunitaPhadnis,

After we create an alias ‘*** Email address is removed for privacy ***’ for shared mailbox, all the emails that are sent to ‘*** Email address is removed for privacy ***’ will arrive into *** Email address is removed for privacy *** which is the shared mailbox’s primary mailbox. Users who have full access permission for the shared mailbox can view all the emails of it via open the shared mailbox in OWA. For details, please refer to the link below:

About “users who are assigned to the shared mailbox”, do you refer to users who have full access permission to the shared mailbox? If yes, they can view the email sent to ‘*** Email address is removed for privacy ***’ in the shared mailbox.

If anything is unclear or misunderstand, please give more detailed description.

Thanks,

Poppy
