hi! i am unable to save my access 2013 web app because i am getting the error in image 2. in the 1st image you can see the "problem" field, but it does not exist in the table. according to the field list it isn't even a part of any table. how can i resolve this issue? the problem exists only in this table.

thanks

anne

You have an ambitious project going on. I would highly recommend you have ALL books about A2013 web apps on your book shelf.

Because of the indentation level I can't be sure what doorMaterial is. A table without fields?

To be sure, I would use SSMS to connect to your back-end Azure database and take a close look at the table design.

Haha okay I will get some books. doorMaterial was a field in the table Room, but it has now somehow migrated out of a table and I have a different "door material" field called doorMat. I remember creating both, but once when i opened it I noticed doorMaterial wasn't there anymore, so I just created a new one. It wouldn't let me name it doorMaterial because doorMaterial was still there somehow? Sorry if this is unclear. I can't seem to fix it so I'm wondering if there's a way to delete the Room Table and recreate it and then put all the old data in easily. Or if it would have to be redone by hand (not the end of the world but tedious) I am still pretty new at doing this, I'm wondering if I should get those books and start over? Would there be any way to transfer the data already in there? I can't save or export it properly because of this error I think.

    See https://blogs.office.com/2012/09/27/moving-and-backing-up-your-access-2013-web-apps/

Friendly suggestion: you should really spend some time exploring the capabilities of Access web apps (AWA) before adding important data to tables. This project you are embarking on should NOT be your first introduction into AWAs. You will first need to know that this simple tool can do all that you need your app to do. We don't want you to come back here later and ask "how do I do [critical feature]" and having to tell you it can't be done.

Haha I just jumped in with both feet! Are there any books you recommend? Also is there any way to save the data I've already got and insert some of it later?

There are only 3 that I am aware of. The two I use are Inside Out Microsoft Access 2013 by Jeff Conrad, and Professional Access 2013 Programming by Teresa Hennig et al. Both are terrific.

Andy Couch also wrote a book about this topic but I don't have it. He is a class act so probably well worth considering that one as well.
